Where did the name “PixPusher” come from?
Ahhhh… the 90s. We were young and bursting with reckless enthusiasm during the dawning of the internet in San Francisco, California. The booze flowed freely and domain names could be had for 5 bucks a pop.
I seem to remember traveling in the back seat of a friends car (full of friends) meandering up to Bernal Heights when we were thinking about names for our roles within the start-up we worked at. Heaven forbid we should have normal job titles like “Engineer”, “Graphic Designer,” “Web Developer”…. that’s when I came up with “Pixel Pusher”. I quickly shortened it to “PIXPUSHER” since the name is more inclusive of what I do. It’s not just about the pixels, boys and girls. I had big dreams back then, and still do.
Once a PIXPUSHER, always a PIXPUSHER.
Do you have a job?
Well, sort of, but not really… I “retired” a few years ago but am open to short-term, interesting, projects.
Are you selling ukuleles?
Thanks for asking. Yes, I will be posting several ukuleles and other instruments and gear from my collection over the next few years on Reverb. They are good, trust me.
Are you in a band?
I am a member of James Hill’s “Uke Heads” band. Our first album was released on Valentine’s Day 2024. It’s good, trust me. We are currently working through our second album. Check out the work in process here. It’s good, trust me.
What else are you working on?
Well aside from posting at ukelectik.com, I have a few more projects in the works. I will share when the right time comes along? They are good, trust me.
